Mulder and Scully are back, and some new key art from The X-Files revival puts a nice spin on the series’ classic iconography.
The series revival doesn’t arrive until early 2016, but the premiere episode of The X-Files’ new season had its first screening at the MIPCOM television trade fair a few days ago. Early buzz, according to The Hollywood Reporter? The premiere episode was apparently well received, though that could be one part quality and one part genuine excitement. Here’s hoping it’s the former.
Along with the premiere episode (which retained the series’ original opening!), the network has also dropped a new poster for the revival season. It looks sharp, featuring a zoomed-out shot of Mulder and Scully as two shining lights from the sky form an “X” behind the duo. Hmm, what could those lights be? It also features the revival’s new tagline, “The truth is still out there,” which is (of course) a spin on the show’s original catchphrase.
The new season of The X-Files premieres Jan. 24, 2016.
