Duncan Jones’ (Moon, Source Code) Warcraft movie has unleashed a cool new character poster featuring Vikings star Travis Fimmel as the heroic Sir Anduin Lothar, the Lion of Azeroth.
Based on Blizzard Entertainment’s hit MMORPG video game World of Warcraft (2004), the upcoming fantasy movie is being helmed by Jones, with a script co-written by himself and Charles Leavitt (In the Heart of the Sea).
The poster was released by the official Twitter account for the Warcraft movie with a tagline that says “Lothar has sworn to protect his people, no matter the cost. #WarcraftMovie” and “War Is Not The Only Option.” Have a look:
The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.
Warcraft will open in movie theaters on June 10, 2016. Are you ready (or not ready) for war? What do you think of the poster? And are you for the Alliance, or the Horde?
