When Avengers and Buffy mastermind Joss Whedon finally joined Twitter, you just knew we’d be in for some goodies, right?
Well, Joss has finally wrapped shooting on the massive new Avengers sequel Age of Ultron — and he took to social media to let us all know it was a wrap. Of course, this being Whedon, he has a little fun with the announcement.
He posted the photo below, looking positively exhausted, with the note “Avengers Two Wrapped, What the Hell Do I Do Now?” Well, we can answer that one for you — get over to the editing bay, because we’d think there’s still a whole lot of work left to do before that May 1, 2015, release date rolls around.
Looking back to his work directing the first Avengers film, as well as Age of Ultron (not to mention his consulting role on virtually every Marvel movie in between, plus Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will have devoured the past half-decade for the celebrated geek icon.
Considering that Joss has to be positively exhausted at this point, we’re curious whether he’ll stick around to finish out the trilogy or pass the reins to another director. Sure, he’s managed to squeeze in a few passion projects here and there, but the Marvel gig obviously takes the brunt of his focus. We’re anxious to see if he’ll stay active for Avengers 3 or slide back to a producing role.
Regardless, we still have Age of Ultron to look forward to — and now we know it's done shooting!
