Black Lightning is about to strike on The CW, and today we are even more excited for its release thanks to a new poster. The new super-show will feature Cress Williams as father and principal Jefferson Pierce.

With his days as the vigilante Black Lightning behind him, Pierce has settled into a new life. His daughters (played by Nafessa Williams and China Anne McClain) are grown, but with the emergence of a new local gang called "The One Hundred" and corruption spreading everywhere, it might be time for him to don the mantle of Black Lightning once more.

The new show is partially produced by Greg Berlanti, but will not a part of the Arrowverse (at least not yet). Tony Isabella (with Trevor Von Eeden) originally created the character for DC Comics.

Feast your eyes on the new poster, which has Jefferson Pierce looking more like, we're sorry, Jefferson Fierce. He seriously looks like he is not about to take garbage from anyone or anything.
