New York's street-level heroes are assembled and prepped for punishment in this vivid new poster for The Defenders.

Marvel’s latest comic book series debuts on Netflix this Friday and should provide a colorful gathering of vicious vigilantes for one last summer superhero hurrah.

The eight-episode team-up show stars Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) as a fearsome foursome of Big Apple avengers teaming up to save the city.

Fan favorite Sigourney Weaver puts in a villainous turn as the mysterious Alexandra, while Scott Glenn reprises his Daredevil role as Stick, the blind martial arts master and mentor to Matt Murdock.

Weaver's character is apparently aligned with Elektra (Elodie Yung) and the secret ninja organization known as The Hand, and acts as one of the ancient group's icy leaders. She's best described by showrunner Marco Ramirez as a "total badass."

“Sigourney is the kind of person you can buy as the smartest person in the room, who you can also buy as a person holding a flamethrower. Her character is a very powerful force in New York City. She’s everything Sigourney is: sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous ... I’m sorry. I can only say a bunch of adjectives right now.”

Marvel's The Defenders strikes Netflix on Aug. 18.
