Star Wars' Death Star isn’t just the galaxy’s greatest technological terror. It’s also a testament to the power of a great plan executed by over 1.1 million people—and that’s just to run the battle station after it’s built. So, what does it take the actually build the thing?

According to this infographic by Buddy Loans, it takes 1.8 million tons of food—plus 1.2 billion cups of tea. (Did we mention Buddy Loans is a UK site?) Every year.

Just in case you were wondering if some evil government—or a Blastr editor with a big dream—were planning on building its own Death Star, it would take 833,315 years to produce the steel with our current technology.

And in case you were further contemplating some nefarious scheme like I am, yes, Earth in fact does have enough metal to produce a Death Star. In fact, our crust is so dense, we can produce 2 million of them.

Watch the skies.
