Though it's been a few decades since we've bothered to visit our old lunar stomping grounds, we sure spent a lot of time and effort getting there the first few times.
To remind us of our spacefaring successes (and failures) in getting to the moon, Fast Company has posted an epic, two-part infographic that showcases every mission ever attempted to land on/fly-by/study the moon.
The ultra-detailed graphics were compiled by university student Margot Trundell as part of her graduate thesis.
As you can see, it took a lot of starts and false starts until we finally dropped Neil Armstrong on a celestial body in 1969, and it's interesting to see the missions and studies that have continued even to this day.
