Infographic: How much bad science is in your fave sci-fi movie?

We give our onscreen sci-fi a fair amount of leeway, given that what might be scientifically accurate might not make for effective spectacle—like the pew-pew of Star Wars' laser pistols. But are there any that hold up to true scrutiny?

Well, not really.

Looking at this list of science fiction movies from Armageddon to Serenity, it's clear that science wasn't foremost on the filmmakers' minds. Only movies that were docudramas about the very rigors of getting humans into outer space—Apollo 13 and The Right Stuff—earned passing grades.
