Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Warner Bros. are talking, but is it about Lobo or something new?

Last time we heard Johnson discuss anything DC Comics-related, he was letting us know that the long-rumored Lobo flick he was supposed to star in "just went away." Since then, Johnson's kept plenty busy working on the Fast and the Furious franchise, a new Hercules flick, the disaster movie San Andreas and more, but it seems his desire to work on a DC project never quite disappeared.

Today Johnson hosted a Q&A for fans on his Twitter page, and in between talking about his favorite songs, Hercules and his future with WWE, he was asked which Marvel or DC hero he'd most want to play on the big screen. Johnson didn't exactly answer that question, though. Instead, he said this:

Well, that doesn't leave us much to go on, but let's consider the possibilities. A meeting with Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara is certainly a big deal, but it doesn't necessarily mean anything's set in stone. The term "development hell" exists for a reason, after all. We do know that the meeting was definitely about something DC Comics-related, and we also know that Johnson has past ties not just to the role of Lobo, but to the role of Black Adam in a now-defunct Shazam! (aka Captain Marvel) flick. The meeting could (big grain of salt here, folks) mean that one of those projects is back on, though Lobo certainly looks more likely than Shazam! at this point. Then there's the world "we," which could indicate that Johnson's production company, not just Johnson himself, is teaming up with Warner Bros. Perhaps that's the missing piece of the Lobo movie puzzle?

But what if it's something completely different? What if Warner Bros. is after Johnson for a still-unannounced role in the ever-more-crowded Man of Steel sequel? After all, we've already heard reports that Game of Thrones and Conan the Barbarian star Jason Momoa is up for a role in that flick, and he and Johnson are certainly of similar physical type. Could that role be going to Johnson now?

Honestly, given that Warner Bros. seems to finally be intent on bulking up its DC Comics cinematic universe, Johnson could be working on any number of things. Right now, based on this tweet, we only know two things for sure: Johnson and Warner Bros. are talking, and Johnson wanted us to know about it.

What do you think? Is Lobo back on, or is this something else?
