It looks like Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s animated Spider-Man has snagged more Grade A talent. Previously, it was announced that Shameik Moore (Netflix’s The Get Down) would voice Miles Morales, while X-Men Origins: Wolverine alum Liev Schreiber would play the main villain. According to The Tracking Board, two more actors have been brought into the fold.
Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Marvel’s Luke Cage) has been tapped to play Miles’ uncle, Aaron Davis. Also known as Prowler, Aaron is the troubled brother of Miles’ detective father, Jefferson Davis. The latter of whom is reportedly voiced by Atlanta's Brian Tyree Henry. The character of Miles Morales was created by Brian Michael Bendis in Marvel's Ultimate Universe, along with his family and supporting cast mentioned here.
The yet-to-be-titled Spider-Man will be co-directed by Bob Persichett and Peter Ramsey with Lord and Miller executive producing.
The Untitled Animated Spider-Man Project is scheduled for a Dec. 14, 2018 release.
