There'd been rumblings that a new writer would be taking a crack at the infamous, long-rumored Ghostbusters 3—and now we finally know who it is. Did you like Men in Black 3? If so, a new Ghostbusters might be right up your alley.
Etan Cohen, whose credits include Men in Black 3, Idiocracy and Tropic Thunder, is the latest writer tapped to make the project happen.
Cohen takes over for duo Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, writers from the NBC sitcom The Office, who were hired in 2008.
You'd need more than two hands to count how many times this thing has been rewritten, but the latest idea calls for the original team of Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson to pass the proton packs to a younger set of ghostbusters.
Murray has been the major holdout for years, but he's always said that if the right script came along, he was in.
What do you think? Will Cohen be the man to finally crack it?
