Ridley Scott and Fox have done a pretty good job of keeping their Alien prequel under wraps. But there have been some cracks in the veil of secrecy: First, a very spoilery look at what might be the entire plot, and after a blurry image leaked out, Fox has revealed the first poster.

This is a relatively odd teaser poster, given that there's no mention of any of the things you'd normally use to sell a movie like this, like any of the stars' names—not that Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender or Idris Elba will put butts into seats. Even odder, though, is that there's no "From Ridley Scott, the Oscar-winning director of Alien, Blade Runner and Gladiator." Seems like you'd want to let people know something like that.

Here's an unspoilery synopsis:

"Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race."

And, apparently, giant heads.
