The season four premiere of Fear the Walking Dead has been a much-anticipated kickstart for the series, as its timing with The Walking Dead’s eighth season finale and its announced crossover character of Morgan (Lennie James) has interested fans with its bold departure from the norm. However, this won’t be the only deviation from the norm that audiences can expect with this back-to-back event.
According to The Walking Dead’s official Twitter account, Morgan won’t be the only character making the leap between shows:
Fear the Walking Dead is quickly becoming the zombie show with the most opportunities for growth as The Walking Dead’s surviving characters shamble towards a ninth season. With the shows separated by multiple states and even more time, there will be some narrative gymnastics to get whomever is crossing over to make sense, but after that, the possibilities are mostly unrestricted.
While the main leads of TWD will likely stick with the program, some of the second-stringers could certainly make the hop in order to give FWD a swift kick in the ratings.
We'll have to tune in to find out more.
