Barry Allen's just getting to know his new abilities as the Flash, but he's already got a major nemesis to deal with.

We've still got a little more than a month to go before we finally see the first episode of the much-anticipated new DC Comics-based series The Flash, which will join Arrow as part of a little TV superuniverse on The CW this fall. Starring Grant Gustin in the title role and featuring a load of fellow DC characters that already includes Firestorm, Plastique, the General and more, the series is poised to give us the same kind of superhero thrills that Arrow has, but with a brighter, more adventurous perspective. Stephen Amell's Oliver Queen still operates in the shadows, facing grim threats by night, but as the trailers for The Flash show, Barry Allen is more than happy to run (pun intended) his superhero operation by day, zipping through Central City traffic on his way to fight evil.

To help build our anticipation for the series even more, The CW's just dropped a brand-new trailer for the show, and it focuses heavily on the looming showdown between Barry and criminal turned meta-human Clyde Mardon (Chad Rook), better known in the comics as Weather Wizard. If you saw the five-minute extended trailer for The Flash a few months ago, you've already seen some of this Weather Wizard footage, and then some, but this trailer gives the threat of Mardon a bit of a tighter focus and suggests that this face-off between superhero and supervillain will be a driving force in the early hours of the show.

The Flash premieres Oct. 7 on The CW.
