The Marvel and DC heroes might get a lot of the focus at San Diego Comic-Con, but don't count out the minifigs quite yet. Case in point: The latest trailer for The LEGO NINJAGO Movie.

The SDCC trailer for the latest film in the expanding LEGO franchise sets up the battle between a team of teenage ninjas and the evil forces of the warlord Garmadon. We get to see more of the joke-filled tone here, and it feels like a great fit with what's come before. Like pretty much all the LEGO movies, the voice cast is loaded with A-listers: Jackie Chan, Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, and Zach Woods.

Here's the official synopsis:

In this big-screen NINJAGO adventure, the battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, The Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their inner power of Spinjitzu.

The LEGO NINJAGO Movie opens September 22.
