It's a lusty, racier Grimm on season 2's midseason premiere tonight

We haven't seen a storyline like this before on TV. Imagine that the hero's girl and the villain, after lusting for each other for much of the season, finally get up close and personal on NBC's Grimm in a BIG story twist that just might change the series forever. According to the stars at the center of the story, Bitsie Tulloch and Sasha Roiz, when Grimm returns for its midseason premiere tonight, their characters -- Juliette and Captain Renard – may just give in to their magic-laced desires, and Nick and Renard will have a major showdown.

“What happens [tonight] we’ve not see the likes of on Grimm so far,” said Tulloch, who plays Juliette. “I think it’s really fun, and I think it’s just a great way to deal with what’s going on between the two of them, and also to highlight how little control they have over it. This is not some slow-burning love. They literally can’t control the lust. And obviously it gets to a sort of violent place, and neither them is really wanting this to happen, they can’t help it.

So far this season, after Juliette fell into a coma thanks to being poisoned by witchy Hexenbiest Adalind Schade, she woke up with a hole in her memory and completely forgot Nick. Worse yet, it also led to Juliette and Renard finding themselves drawn to each other.

“Obviously Sasha’s character understands more of what’s going on coming from that world, and Juliette is just like, 'All right. Well, I guess par for the course. I’m already losing my mind,'” said Tulloch.

“This will be a great payoff, I believe,” said Roiz, who plays Captain Rendard. “It’s fun to explore new ground, new territory with Grimm. It’s almost like Grimm After Dark, a little, you know, racier version. So I think [viewers will] be pleased, and it’s a good payoff after this long hiatus.”

“Waking up in season two in a coma and then having just this big empty hole where this man once lived has been sort of crazy, and I have to say you have not seen the worst of it. What goes on with Juliette gets much worse before it gets better. So [the writers are] just starting to lay out what’s going to happen the rest of season two. As an actress it’s definitely been so much fun for me to really go into these deep dark depths of the character and her mental space. And she’s really starting to lose it, kind of,” said Tulloch.

“As you can imagine it’s crazy to wake up and see pictures of this guy, this stranger all over your house and be told that you guys were going to get married and all this stuff, and you have no recollection whatsoever. And then all of a sudden she’s lusting after someone she barely knows and can’t control herself. I mean, it’s enough to make anybody mad. So that’s been a lot of fun for me,” she added.

The actors admitted that there is indeed a love scene between their characters.

“It was intense. I mean, I think it was definitely a shocker for us when we read it, because we really didn’t believe it when we read it. We thought it was a bit of a joke. But they went there,” said Roiz.

As far as where this will all lead with the Nick/Juliette/Renard triangle, get ready for one bumpy ride, said the actors.

“There’s going to be a lot of fallout and that’s going to occupy the remainder of this season to see what will transpire and how pieces will fall and where they fall, I should say. So that’s really going to be a very delicate balance moving on,” he said.

“What happens in the rest of season two, I think, has been really fantastic. … I mean, they’re really doing huge episodes that are just very grand in scope. I’ve read some of them and been, like, 'Are you guys crazy? There’s no way you're going to be able to shoot this in eight days,'” said Tulloch.

We can expect new Wesen and the writers delving deeper into the mythology.

The writers are “really going in new directions, and the episodes, really, I’m not just saying this, they get better and better. And I’m really proud of what we’ve been able to do in season two and where it’s going. And I think the fans are going to be super, super excited about the last 10 episodes,” she said.
