The mystery surrounding J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII is starting to lift, as we now know at least one original cast member is officially back to battle evil forces in the new trilogy.

Carrie Fisher, who portrayed Princess Leia in the original trilogy, told Palm Beach Illustrated that she will reprise her role in Episode VII. When asked point blank, she set the geek world on fire with a simple confirmation: “Yes.”

Rumors have swirled that original stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Fisher would return to ease the transition to a new generation of freedom fighters. With Fisher’s return (apparently) confirmed, its likely the rest of the gang will also be back in some capacity.

Here’s an excerpt from the Q&A, where Fisher makes hilarious guesses about Leia's future:

Q: What do you think Princess Leia is like today?

Fisher: Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.

Q: And still wearing the bagel buns?

Fisher: The bagel buns and the bikini, because probably she has sundowners syndrome. At sundown, she thinks that she’s 20-something. And she puts it on and gets institutionalized.

Sweet. Nice to know there’s a chance the bagel buns could return. Are you glad to hear Fisher will be back?
