It’s official! Kiersey Clemons will star alongside Ezra Miller in Warner Bros.’ The Flash movie.
According to Variety, Clemons will play Barry Allen’s friend and tough-as-nails journalist Iris West. The character also happens to be the Scarlet Speedster’s long-time lady love in the pages of the DC Comics.
Clemons (Extant, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Flatliners) will be reuniting with her Dope director Rick Famuyiwa on the DC comic book movie. Famuyiwa took over helming duties in June when Seth Grahame-Smith (dude who wrote the novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) departed the Warner Bros. film over creative differences a few months back.
Even with the changing of the guard, The Flash appears to be still on track for its target March 16, 2018, release date, with production expected to debut sometime this year; and despite Grahame-Smith leaving, they're keeping Smith’s most recent draft of the screenplay based on a treatment by LEGO Movie directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord.
However, before Ezra Miller headlines his first solo film as the Fastest Man Alive, we’ll get to see him officially join the Justice League (after popping up in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) in director Zack Snyder’s superhero team-up movie on Nov. 17, 2017. Kiersey Clemons is also expected to be introduced in the film.
