Batman: Gotham by Gaslight has a new official clip from WB, and it introduces Pamela, the Plant Lady (Poison Ivy’s steampunk alter-ego), as she runs into the feature’s villain, Jack the Ripper, in turn-of-the-century Gotham.
The R-rated animated Batman film thrusts some of your favorite DC characters back in time to face a historical evil. Gotham by Gaslight is the third adult-oriented Batman animation, this time set in a Victorian alternative reality, thanks to the DC Elseworlds comic of the same name. Here, this means Ivy bumping into a mysterious slasher in an alleyway. Take a look:
Pamela seems to be in the demographic of the Ripper’s victims, prostitutes traveling alone. There’s no confirmation that Jack kills her with that knife of his, especially if Ivy is able to flex her plant powers, but considering the trailer of the film, it wouldn’t be shocking if she met a gruesome fate.
However, after inviting the Ripper to be “generous” and return to her room, it seems like Ivy’s pheremonal mind control may at least return in some seductive aspect.
This encounter’s conclusion will have to be dissected after the film’s release on digital platforms, January 23, 2018.
