The CW’s breakout hit series iZombie has nabbed Robert Knepper to play dad to baddie (and former zombie) Blaine in Season 2.
According to EW, the Prison Break star will play Angus, "a polished, articulate and successful businessman, who regards Blaine (David Anders) as a lifelong disappointment. Having cut check after check to help fund a series of Blaine’s business failures, Angus is unhappy to find Blaine once again asking for financial help—which is likely due to the fact that Blaine is once again human now."
Knepper has an impressively long list of TV roles that mostly include playing villains. The actor appeared in a boatload of genre series, which include Arrow, The Flash, Cult, SGU Stargate Universe, Carnivale and Heroes. He also had roles on The Blacklist, Mob City, Hawaii Five-0, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Texas Rising. On the big screen, Knepper has most recently appeared in R.I.P.D., Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and the upcoming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 alongside X-Men's Jennifer Lawrence.
Since the actor is mostly known for his villainous roles, does that mean he’ll play another rotten bad guy on Rob Thomas’ critically acclaimed iZombie? Would meeting Angus explain (but not excuse) Blaine’s disturbingly bad behavior? We'll soon find out as Knepper’s character is set to appear early in the second season. Fun fact: Both Robert Knepper and David Anders have appeared as villains on Heroes.
iZombie returns Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 9 p.m. on The CW. Are you guys thrilled to see Robert Knepper joining the cast? Was the show one of your favorite new series of 2015?
