After months and months of speculation, it's finally been confirmed that Jack Black will return as R.L. Stine in the upcoming Goosebumps sequel, Haunted Halloween. Our reaction was similar to that of Thor when he found out he'd be fighting the Hulk on Sakaar in Ragnarok: YESSSSSSS!!!
Black pops up in a tiny spot for the movie, entitled "Old Friend," where he tells the latest group of heroes what he'll need in order to save the day.
"Everything's going to be ok," he says. "I need typing paper, a thesaurus, and a comfortable chair with lumbar support."
Check out the spot below:
Black will be supported by Ken Jeong (Crazy Rich Asians), Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs), Jeremy Ray Taylor (It), Madison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), and Caleel Harris (Castle Rock).
Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween was directed by Ari Sandel (The DUFF) and will ring your doorbell and ask for a trick or a treat (more like a trick, though) on Friday Oct. 12. Black currently stars in a film with similar fantastical whimsy and horror, Eli Roth's adaptation of The House with a Clock in Its Walls.
