Snikt!! Hugh Jackman recently hinted that director Bryan Singer’s upcoming superhero flick X-Men: Days of Future Past could be his last outing as Logan/Wolverine.
The 44-year-old Australian actor told MTV:
"It may be the last. By the way, it didn't hit me until three weeks before the end [of shooting X-Men: Days of Future Past], because we promoted The Wolverine and I came back on set with three weeks to go, and that's when I went, 'Well, who knows? Maybe there's no more Wolverine. Maybe this is it. Who knows? Maybe'."
"So I really made the most of those last few weeks. I enjoyed every time I put the claws on. I nicked everything off the set, so Halloween, come to me and I'll hook you up."
Okay. It's a Halloween date! But we digress.
It's actually hard to believe Days of Future Past could be the last we’ll see of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine—because Jackman has simply been amazing in the role of the fast-healing, adamantium-claw-wielding Canadian superhero—but we guess you gotta hang up them claws at one point. Just. Maybe not just yet? Okaypleasethanks.
What do you think? Should Hugh Jackman give up his claws for good after Days of Future Past? Or do you still want more Jackman as Wolverine?
While The Wolverine is still slashing its way into theaters, X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to be released on May 23, 2014.
