James Gunn wants to put a stop to your Marvel vs. DC quarrels. The Guardians of the Galaxy helmer took to Twitter over the weekend to ask his followers to take a chill pill when it comes to discussing whether Marvel or DC have the best superhero flicks.

Gunn posted several messages on Saturday saying he’s had enough of not being able to mention DCEU movies in his own Twitter feed without the whole thing exploding into a screaming match about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

“Every time I mention anything DC, no matter what, my feed becomes an endless screaming match about BvS. You guys are never going to convince each other – it’s just a bunch of wasted energy.”

Batman v Superman has divided comic book fans ever since the DC movie first hit the big screen early last year. While some argue Batman v Superman is a great superhero movie, other fans put it down as simply being the worst. The debate is real and has been raging since March 25, 2016. Gunn thinks it’s now time people spend their energy elsewhere. And he's not wrong.

“At least when you’re screaming at each other about Trump, it’s something of international importance. But it’s a 2 year old movie that some people like and some people don’t. Why is someone else’s opinion so important to you? As Marvel and DC super fans you have way more in common with each other than you do with the rest of the world.”

Gunn closed the discussion by asking his Twitter followers that if they really, really have to talk about Batman v Superman, that they make sure he’s not tagged in the posts, saying: “I’ve muted a lot of you guys, but not all. Thanks.” Check out the full post, and let us know what you think:
