Somewhere, Brody from Point Break is getting very jealous.
We’re getting closer to the release of the latest entry in the DCEU, James Wan’s Aquaman. What Warner Bros. has shown so far has made fans nothing but excited. You’ve got Jason Momoa’s undeniable charisma. You’ve got Amber Heard playing a Mera that you would want on your side of any fight. You’ve even got a comics-accurate costume that looks amazing.
You can now add “even more giant sea-steeds” to that list of reasons to see the film. Yesterday on Twitter, Wan posted the following:
It looks like Momoa's Arthur Curry won’t be having all the fun, as Vulko (Willem Dafoe) and Orm/Ocean Master (Patrick Wilson) will be screaming through the seven seas on their creatures. Vulko will ride a hammerhead shark, and Orm will ride a tylosaur. They look magnificent as screenshots; we can’t wait to see them in action. Looking at the teeth on Orm’s tylosaur, it seems like Arthur will have a difficult time trying to usurp the throne to become Atlantis’ true king. Even if he can get through Orm’s army, he will still have to contend with Orm's "pet."
With Wonder Woman and Aquaman, the DCEU has taken huge strides into changing the way audiences view these films. Beautiful images like these continue that step in the right direction.
Aquaman, also starring Nicole Kidman, opens in theaters December 21.
