The Droughtlander is almost over! Starz has released the first official teaser trailer for Season 4 of Outlander, which will premiere later this year.
The footage was first shown to a group of fans during a special screening of series lead Sam Heughan's new film The Spy Who Dumped Me, before being posted via the network's social media. In it, we pick up again with Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Heughan) since the two first landed on the shores of America in the Season 3 finale.
Season 4, which will adapt the events of Diana Gabaldon's corresponding fourth book in the series, titled Dragonfly in Amber, follows the steadfast couple as they attempt to "brave the new world" by settling down in North Carolina. However, the promise of a new life in America doesn't come without its challenges — and Claire's surprise discovery could tease the possibility of yet another time traveler out there.
In this teaser, we also get a first look at some of the well-known characters who will be brought to life in the new season, including Jamie's aunt Jocasta (Maria Doyle Kennedy, Orphan Black) and Stephen Bonnet (Ed Speelers, Downton Abbey), who has a particularly notorious reputation among book lovers — one that might even rival Tobias Menzies' sadistic Black Jack Randall from previous seasons.
Season 4 of Outlander, consisting of 13 episodes, will premiere in November. The show has already been renewed for a fifth and sixth season.
