The Man in the High Castle just upped its geek cred with the addition of Jason O'Mara as a series lead in the upcoming third season. Not that a show based off a Philip K. Dick novel needs much more cred.
Still, you're likely familiar with O'Mara's face from the likes of Life On Mars, Terra Nova, or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., or perhaps you just recognize his voice as that of Batman/Bruce Wayne from numerous DC animated films. Now he'll lend his talents to Amazon's alt-history show that portrays life in the former United States of America, after the Axis powers win World War II and create the Greater Nazi Reich and the Japanese Pacific States.
In the Scott Free produced show, O'Mara, who was born and raised in Ireland, will play a new character by the name of Wyatt Price, a street-wise Irish immigrant who escapes Europe and New York, and ends up hustling his way around the Neutral Zone. According to Deadline:
"Like most in the Neutral Zone, he’s learned to survive as a hustler, trading in various black market goods and services. But he’s more than just a survivor – he believes in what America was and what the Neutral Zone still is – a melting pot worth saving."
So it appears to be quite a substantial role, playing opposite other series leads Alexa Davalos, Rupert Evans, and Rufus Sewell. What do you think, will O'Mara be a good fit?
