Jean Grey's back at last (but how?) in new Wolverine trailer

The latest trailer for James Mangold’s X-Men spinoff The Wolverine has arrived, and we finally get a good look at what Jean Grey’s (Famke Janssen) role will be in the sequel.

Of course, as fans know, Jean Grey didn’t make it through the original X-Men trilogy and was actually mercy-killed by Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) at the end of part three a few years ago. Turns out Wolverine doesn’t handle it very well, which opens the door for this creepily awesome dream cameo where he kills her all over again.

If you’ve been waiting for a dark, post-traumatic-stress version of Logan — then this movie looks right up your alley. It seems to take the comic canon very seriously, to great effect. But don’t worry it’ll be too dark. Mixed in with all those dark undertones, we’ll also have a fair share of ninja fights and cigar-chomping.

The latest trailer also offers some new peeks at some of the bigger action set pieces. The studio has done a good job of not showing too much up until this point, which makes those new snippets of footage look all the more amazing.

The Wolverine opens July 26. What do you think of the new footage?
