Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming Kingsman: The Golden Circle has added The Dude to its ever expanding cast.
TRON: Legacy and Iron Man actor Jeff Bridges made the very cool announcement himself via his Twitter account over the weekend by tweeting #Kingsman alongside the new movie’s poster. Simple, but effective. Check it out:
Jeff Bridges joins an already awesome cast that includes Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Channing Tatum, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Sophie Cookson, Edward Holcroft and Sir Elton John. Vaughn will be back in the director’s chair, working with a script he co-wrote with Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Secret Service). An excellent actor, Bridges won a Best Actor Oscar for his lead role in Crazy Heart in 2009, while Colin Firth nabbed the award the following year for The King's Speech.
The Kingsman sequel will mostly take place in the U.S. and focus on the Statesmen (the American equivalent of the Kingsmen). It'll see the first film’s heroes Eggsy (Egerton) and Merlin (Strong) recruit the Statesmen in order to put a stop to Julianne Moore’s villain's nefarious plans. Presumably, Bridges will play one of the Statesmen alongside Channing Tatum.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is slated for June 16, 2017. Are you excited about Jeff Bridges joining the cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle?
