The Arrowverse is about to get a little bigger. Lost alum and Sleepy Hollow star Jeremy Davies has joined The CW’s Arrowverse, and it looks as though he may be playing a crucial role in the upcoming crossover series event this December.

The network revealed that Davies will play Dr. John Deegan, a doctor at Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane in Gotham City, who may be crazier than the inmates he treats. A statement issued by the network announcing the casting news said that Dr. Deegan's “machinations will draw Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl to Gotham City."

News of Davies' casting comes hot off the heels of the announcement that former Grimm star Elizabeth Tulloch will join in the Arrowverse fun as Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane.

Although Gotham – Batman’s stomping grounds – has been referenced within the Arrowverse shows, it has so far yet to be featured. But with this casting news, combined with the arrival of Batwoman into the fold over at The CW, it looks like that’s all about to change. (Gotham on Fox is not part of The CW’s DC continuity.)

The big question is: Can we expect Batman to show up in the mix at some point?

The crossover event, which involves new episodes of The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl, airs over the weekend of December 9 - 11 on The CW.
