The massive DC tentpole Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had its fair share of problems, and Jesse Eisenberg’s twitchy take on Lex Luthor was certainly one of them. But Superman’s most famous foe will be back for the next big team-up.

As Vulture reports, the official Justice League press kit from Warner Bros. lists Eisenberg as officially returning for the film. Which makes sense, considering he played a key role in the big bad machinations of Dawn of Justice. When last we left Luthor, he was locked away in prison babbling about a much bigger baddie being on the way in the sequel. Because, you know, shared universe. Considering Warner Bros. is keen to lighten the mood in Justice League, here’s hoping they rein in Eisenberg’s performance.

Along with Eisenberg, the kit also confirms Connie Nielsen will reprise her Wonder Woman role of Diana’s mother Hippolyta. We’ll, of course, meet Nielsen in 2017’s Wonder Woman. Which will hopefully be awesome.

Are you surprised to see Eisenberg making a return? How do you think they’ll handle him?
