Jessica Jones: Is this a clever Doctor Who easter egg, or just a hilarious coincidence?

David Tennant was playing about as far off-character as possible in Netflix’s Jessica Jones, but did the producers manage to slip in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it Doctor Who easter egg?

Entertainment Weekly has pointed out a brief scene in the eighth episode of the series, “AKA WWJD,” which finds Jessica and Kilgrave having a conversation about the baddie’s troubled childhood. During the chat, Kilgrave (Tennant) brings up some things that happened to him when he was 10 years old, to which Jessica responds: “You’re not 10 anymore.”

As any Doctor Who fan would know, one of Tennant’s most memorable roles (before this one) was a few seasons in the TARDIS as Who’s 10th Doctor. It stands to reason the Jessica Jones team is comprised of some Who fans, though they made a point not to let Tennant’s previous role play any type of distraction in the proceedings here.

So, is this a sly easter egg, or just a random comment taken out of context?
