Netflix has dropped a few new pics from the second season of Jessica Jones, which reveals the titular hero will apparently be heading to jail in Season 2—though we all know it’ll take more than a pair of handcuffs to keep her down.
Most of the pics focus on Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, though the supporting cast also shows up to tease some possible plot points from the show’s return. One pic shows Jessica in handcuffs and chains using a payphone in a police precinct, another has her sneaking around investigating, and one more has her kicked back in her Alias Investigations office.
Looking to the supporting cast, Rachael Taylor’s Trish will be getting in on more of the action this time around, as we see her running into the fray with gun drawn. Eka Darville’s Malcolm is also back for more adventures, along with a downtrodden Carrie-Anne Moss as attorney Jeri Hogarth. We’ve also included a previously released pic showing David Tennant’s Kilgrave reprising his role from Season 1 (though we still don’t know the context of exactly how he’s back in action).
The first season of Jessica Jones was a taut thriller that dealt with a deeply personal tale for its protagonist, and moving into a follow-up story and transitioning Jessica into a more traditional “hero” will be an interesting change when the show returns. That journey began in the Defenders miniseries, but the pressure is on here to show the creative team can make it work as an ongoing series and still keep it as compelling as the fantastic first season.
Season 2 of Jessica Jones hits Netflix on March 8.
