Jimmy Fallon’s hilarious Bandersnatch spoof is only slightly weirder than the real thing: watch

If the Netflix folks need some inspiration for a Bandersnatch sequel, they might want to send a signal Jimmy Fallon’s way. The Tonight Show host’s recent spoof of the streaming giant’s choose-your-adventure movie carries the whole interactive concept to its hilariously absurd conclusion — and, unlike the circuitous original, it gets to the finish line in just three minutes.

Teaming up with Tonight Show announcer Steve Higgins to wreak self-inflicted misery in this riff on the Black Mirror spinoff, the duo become helpless marionettes in the hands of a demented invisible manipulator. Check it out below, while letting someone else take care of making those agonizing choices for a change:

At first, it looks like Fallon’s the only one who’s susceptible to the insanity, as he hula-hoops, gorges on two oversized chicken parmesan sandwiches, and doffs a jacket-hat to anoint himself “jacket boy.”

But as things get weirder and weirder, pretty soon Higgins succumbs too, matching Fallon blow for blow (literally) in a slap-fight standoff while tag-teaming Higgins’ reggae Shaggy impression against Fallon’s pinched rendition of Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the clip is set to air on the Friday, Jan. 18, edition of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon — if, that is, someone doesn’t program him to go totally off the rails first. In the meantime, you can catch Bandersnatch on Netflix, where, depending on the choices you make, you might just see a scenario or two that’s just about as comedically ridiculous as Fallon’s parody.
