It’s no secret the DCEU's Deathstroke, Joe Manganiello, is a bonafide supernerd when it comes to Dungeons & Dragons. The Magic Mike XXL star’s got a whole basement dedicated to the game and a new clothing line focused on bringing his geekery to closets around the world. But it’s always interesting to learn which celebrities secretly harbor fandoms.
So when Manganiello went on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show to chat about the supervillain role and his new clothing line, the conversation naturally rolled a twenty -- as did Manganiello. The actor talked about his history with the game, who he’s playing now, who he’s playing with, and how he’s suspicious of one particular celebrity that claims D&D cred... but has never proved it to him.
Check out the video below:
So Manganiello’s famous L.A. D&D hotspot (his basement, aka the “Gary Gygax memorial dungeon,” naturally) has featured a crew starring the likes of SNL’s Taran Killam and the WWE’s Big Show.
But not D&D notable Vin Diesel. Oh, he says he plays, sure. But is he really as immersed in D&D fandom as some seem to think? “I don’t know anybody who plays with him,” said Manganiello, starting perhaps the nerdiest celebrity feud of all time.
Prove him wrong, Vin! Do a one-off with Joe, Taran, and the Big Show. Preferably here at SYFY WIRE.
