Star Wars actor John Boyega has shared what looks to be the first official pic from Pacific Rim: Uprising.

The upcoming follow-up to Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim (2013) stars Boyega in the role of Stacker Pentecost's (Idris Elba) son, Jake. However, instead of del Toro sitting in the Jaeger's director's chair, the reins for the latest Jaegers (you know, those giant robots) vs. Kaiju (the big @$s monsters) film have been handed over to Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Angel, Marvel’s Daredevil), who will be helming his first big-screen movie.

Pacific Rim: Uprising will see the return of original characters Mako Mori (played by Rinko Kikuchi), Dr. Hermann Gottlieb (Burn Gorman) and Dr. Newton Geiszler (Charlie Day); with new players played by Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad), Adria Arjona (Emerald City) and Tian Jing (Kong: Skull Island). One original character who'll be MIA (besides Elba's character who *spoiler alert* died in the first movie) from the sequel is Charlie Hunnam's (Sons of Anarchy) Raleigh Becket.

Check out the official pic below and let us know what you think. Are you guys looking forward to more giant robots vs. giant monsters mayhem?

Pacific Rim: Uprising will open on Feb. 23, 2018.
