It seems you just can't keep a mutilated homicidal clown down, as word has spread that Twisty the Clown will return in the new season of Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story.
Inhabited by the always-captivating John Carroll Lynch (Fargo, Zodiac), Twisty met his supposed end in the two-part Halloween episode of 2014's American Horror Story: Freak Show (still one of the best AHS seasons) and was put out of his mortal misery by the dashing phantom of Edward Mordrake (Wes Bentley) to become part of the demon-headed spirit's "pure freak" posse.
Murphy delivered the chilling news via Instagram that Twisty, the disgraced juggling clown who blew his jaw off with a shotgun in a failed suicide attempt, would be back, but did not give details as to the exact form or function he would have in Season 7.
The monitor image teased a vintage Twisty The Clown Chronicles comic book cover being held by a cast member during filming.
Whether he's summoned back into the present by the curious comic's owner or arrives on his own accord with Mordrake's menagerie can only be speculated on — but this little plot leak is just the thing to get viewers psyched for the next descent into AHS's paranormal horror den when the show returns on FX in September.
Are you grinning from ear to ear that Twisty is returning to AHS?
