John Krasinski will write and direct a new supernatural tale starring wife Emily Blunt.

The movie is called A Quiet Place, and Collider says it is set "on a farm where a supernatural being has been terrifying a family for some time." Krasinski, best known as Jim Halpert from The Office, has never dabbled in the horror genre before, while Blunt, who's currently filming Mary Poppins Returns, has appeared in both horror (Wind Chill, The Wolfman) and sci-fi (Edge of Tomorrow).

The project will mark the first time that the couple, who married in 2010 and have two daughters, have worked together on a movie. It's also the first time Krasinski will direct a feature for a major studio, in this case Paramount, after helming the indie films The Hollars and Brief Conversations With Hideous Men.

Strangely enough, the pair could have both been members of the Avengers at one point: Blunt was almost signed to play Black Widow but had to drop out due to a previous film commitment, while Krasinski was one of the finalists to take on the role of Captain America, which was eventually won by Chris Evans.

Paramount is producing A Quiet Place with Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company, which has been involved with The Purge and Ouija horror franchises.
