Whenever a dog is in trouble, Keanu Reeves will be there. SYFY is lighting the Wick for a revenge-fueled marathon of all three John Wick films over this year's Memorial Day weekend. The bloody good fun begins Saturday, May 29, at 9 p.m. EST with the first entry in the Chad Stahelski-directed franchise created by screenwriter Derek Kolstad.
The marathon is scheduled to pick up the next day (Sunday, May 30) with the full trilogy, starting at 4:30 p.m. EST. It all leads up to the SYFY network premiere of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. If your celebratory barbecue runs a little longer than expected and you end up missing them, don't worry — there'll be follow-up airings of the second and third installments on Monday, May 31, at 3:30 p.m. EST and 6:03 p.m. EST, respectively.
"I think John's a decent person, and you can say that in the world that he's in," Reeves told SYFY WIRE in 2019. "In the world of assassins, he's got honor and [a] code. He's not a bad guy. He's done some assassinations and so, that's what makes him complicated in that world."
"John Wick has this indomitable spirit behind him and the audience has identified with [that]," added Ian McShane (Winston). "He doesn't have to say anything. That comes through Keanu's understanding of the character and what he portrays, which is great."
The Wick-based rager is just one part of SYFY's action-packed Memorial Day programming slate that also includes airings of White House Down, The Magnificent Seven, San Andreas, Escape Plan, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, The Foreigner, Hunter Killer, and Cold Pursuit. You can check out the full screening schedule at syfy.com/schedule.
To date, the John Wick series had accrued over half a billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Two more movies are currently in development, as is a TV project — The Continental — about a young Winston.
