Writer/director Jordan Peele, who won an Oscar for his Get Out screenplay, returns to the world of horror in March with Us, a psychological thriller about one unexpected evening at a beach house between two couples. Leading the cast are Black Panther alums Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke as Adelaide and Gabe Wilson.
Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have our first good look at the project, which co-stars Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale), Tim Heidecker (Jeff & Some Aliens), Anna Diop (Titans), and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman).
“For my second feature, I wanted to create a monster mythology,” Peele told EW. “I wanted to do something that was more firmly in the horror genre but still held on to my love of movies that are twisted but fun.”
Set in Northern California, the movie takes a turn for the creepy when four mysterious individuals, dressed in red and holding hands, appear at the end of the beach house's driveway. To make matters more complicated, Adelaide is dealing with past traumas of her own. Peele helped Nyong'o get in character by asking her to watch 10 horror classics: Dead Again, The Shining, The Babadook, It Follows, A Tale of Two Sisters, The Birds, Funny Games, Martyrs, Let the Right One In, and The Sixth Sense.
"He was on my wish list of people to work with,” Nyong’o told EW. “The very fact that I have not done anything like it was appealing, because it promised growth and excitement and new territory."

Produced by Blumhouse and distributed by Universal Pictures, Us will hit theaters on March 15. The first trailer for the film will drop Christmas day.
