HitRECord – the online social and collaborative production company founded by actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt – today made an E3 2018 announcement that its community of artists will be teaming up with video game publisher Ubisoft to create future video game assets.

The exciting partnership will be kicking things off with Ubisoft’s hotly-anticipated multiplayer RPG title Beyond Good and Evil 2, a prequel to the critically-acclaimed 2003 game.

Deadline reports that Gordon-Levitt revealed the news himself at Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre and encouraged a wide-range of artists to get involved in Ubisoft’s Space Monkey Program, which will see them work on content together and crowdsource for the game on things like posters, radio commercials, and music for the game's soundtrack.

"This is the first time we’ve entered the video game space," Gordon-Levitt said, "and the creative challenges are live now."

There’s no word yet on when the game will launch, but it is said to feature a ferocious and younger version of Jade, the investigative journalist and martial artist from the original game, as the lead in the story (it was previously thought that the prequel would take place before Jade was born.)

Gamers got a first glimpse of the project at Ubisoft’s E3 conference last year when it released a surprise trailer. The latest trailer with all the new information dropped today and can be viewed above.
