We don't have many pieces of Christopher Nolan's Interstellar mystery yet, but, at least now we have a very pretty poster.

There are big expectations for Nolan's first time in the director's chair since completing The Dark Knight Trilogy, even though Interstellar's been kept under pretty tight wraps so far. The director and his cast -- which includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, John Lithgow, Matt Damon, Ellen Burstyn and many more -- have spoken very little about the film's plot, and all we've officially heard so far about the story is this very brief synopsis:

"A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage."

The film's first teaser trailer, while beautiful and evocative, was also brief and mysterious, leaving us with little but the impression that the film will explore humanity's spirit of exploration. That, plus wormhole travel, gives us a vague idea of what we're in for, but until the film gets a full-length trailer (which we hear is on the way soon) we're left with little but anticipation ... it is really good anticipation, though.

Now the wait for more Interstellar has been sated a bit, because the film's first teaser poster is out. Have a look:

Sure, it's just a teaser image, but just like the first trailer, it's lovely and evokes a spirit of adventure. The tagline also gives us a few more clues about the plot, and hints that the sense of exploration in the film might not simply be curiosity-based. Is Earth in imminent danger, or is Nolan just talking about the future of humanity in general?

Interstellar lands in theaters on Nov. 7.
