Today is Woody Harrelson’s birthday. Born in Midland, Texas, in 1961, Harrelson has had a pretty good run in science fiction. Don't look for that to end anytime soon; he's definitely in that Han Solo movie you've been reading so much about. But also:

War for Planet of the Apes (2017)

The Hunger Games (2012-2014)

Zombieland (2009)

Also, today in 1995, the Hale Bopp comet was discovered.

And if that's not enough: Go get yourself an ice cream cone. Because also, while this is not necessarily a science fiction thing, we thought it'd interest you to know.

Today in 1904, in Missouri, the ice cream cone was invented.

It's hot out. Pretty much everywhere. And Sunday. Which means you can have an ice cream cone for all three meals today. You're welcome.

Tomorrow: Anna Paquin and zombies.
