June 16 in Sci-Fi History: John Cho and Vegetables

First, today is the birthday of John Cho, and start by feasting your eyes upon the glory that he is.

Lately, he's been playing Captain Sulu in the Star Trek reboots. He was also (amazing) in the Total Recall reboot. He should be in every movie ever. The #starringJonCho project has Photoshopped into just about every movie poster to raise awareness of roles available to Asian-American actors.

Star Trek: Into Darkness

Cho was born on this day in 1972. If you see him, tell him how handsome he is. And then wish him a happy birthday.

Today is also Fresh Veggies Day. And a Friday, so we thought we'd celebrate by sharing a list of movies with dangerous plants in them.

Creepshow (1982)

Little Shop of Horrors (1986)

Day of the Triffids (1962)

*We say again. If you're looking for a summer watch -- this one is pretty great.

Tomorrow: Juggling Green Lanterns.
