It was on this day in 1976 that Logan's Run premiered. Directed by Michael Anderson and starring Michael York and Jenny Aguttar (updated because it was out in an edit. My bad!). Also Farrah Fawcett was in it. The movie was based on the bestselling novel by William Nolan and George Clayton Johnson.

Now that the names are out of the way, let's recall that this is a movie that takes place in the year 2274, where everyone is murdered at the age of 30 in a ritual called "Renewal."

Logan's Run opened to mixed reviews and is definitely a little slow by today's standards, but it's worth a re-watch.

Also premiering on this day in 1989: Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

Light. Fluffy. Kind of stupid. Obviously meant to be a ride at Disneyland, the movie was a hit with family audiences, opening at Number 2 behind Batman (which also opened on this day in 1989). We don't necessarily recommend you sit down and watch this one ... unless you have kids around who aren't all that bright.

Tomorrow: Couple of things you love about Bill Pullman.
