Today is the birthday of comic book writer Christopher Priest. He's a huge deal around here, and we're pretty excited to wish him well.

We got to talk to him last year about Deathstroke.

Born in 1961, Priest was the first African-American writer at Marvel comics, joining the editorial team in 1979. In 1983, he debuted as a writer with issue #1 of The Falcon.

Besides being an accomplished musician and songwriter, he also created the spectacular Quantum and Woody. He's written for The Green Lantern, Conan the Barbarian and Black Panther.

Which, BTW, have you seen the trailer? Good; watch it again. Get pumped.

If you happen upon Christopher Priest today, tell him hello and wish him a happy birthday, won't you?

Tomorrow: Cupid, please hear our cry …
