She's back! Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff will star in the new sci-fi thriller Origin Unknown, in the lead role of Mackenzie "Mack" Wilson.
In Origin Unknown, "after the first manned mission to Mars ends in a deadly crash, mission controller Mackenzie 'Mack' Wilson is summoned to assist an artificial intelligence system – A.R.T.I. The investigation uncovers a mysterious object under the surface of Mars, leading to a discovery that could change the future of our planet as we know it," according to the press release.
From the description, it sounds like Sackhoff will have another kick-ass role where she gets to put on her flight suit and head back out into space. The actress has been busy in recent years with Riddick, Oculus, Don't Knock Twice and her Netflix series, Longmire.
The film will be directed by Hasraf 'HaZ' Dulull with a screenplay written by Gary Hall based on a story by Dulull. Principal photography begins later this month in London.
