By the power of Grayskull! Is the Masters of the Universe movie reboot circling its new He-Man?

The last we heard about the new live-action version of 1980s cartoon series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe was that action director McG (Supernatural, Chuck, Charlie’s Angels) had been brought on board to helm the reboot currently in the works at Sony Pictures. Now it seems like the filmmaker has started meeting actors for the fantasy film, and one of them is a Twilight vet.

According to a Tweet from Kellan Lutz, the actor has met with McG over Masters of the Universe. Could Lutz be up for the role of He-Man and his alter ego, Prince Adam? Is he destined to defend the realm of Eternia and the secrets of Castle Grayskull against the evil forces of that dastardly, bone-headed Skeletor? Check out his tweet:

Well, Lutz being up for He-Man is entirely possible, since he’s got the overall look to play the iconic fantasy character. The actor already played the son of Zeus in the particularly dreadful The Legend of Hercules and has also played Poseidon in Immortals, which starred current Superman actor Henry Cavill.

Although Kellan Lutz could potentially have what it takes to be a good He-Man, the actor doesn’t have the star power needed to carry the movie, although one could also argue that that was also the case when Dolph Lundgren (The Expendables) played the role in 1987’s Masters of the Universe -- a movie that became somewhat of a cult hit despite not being a very good film.

But what say you? Do you think Kellan Lutz would make a perfect Prince Adam/He-Man? Who else would you like to see in the role?
