We still don’t know much about the story, but the cast list for Marvel’s Ant-Man & The Wasp is finally starting to come together — and it just added a face that should be familiar to Syfy fans.
Variety reports Hannah John-Kamen (Killjoys) has joined the film in an undisclosed role, though it’s apparently a “key role” in the story. The studio apparently landed on John-Kamen after setting with several actresses. Apart from that, we know nothing. She’ll join original stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Michael Pena. Peyton Reed, who directed the first Ant-Man, is also back behind the camera.
Best guess for who she might be playing? Not really, at least not at the moment. There aren't a lot of obvious female roles from the comics that could fit. Maybe the new Beetle, Janice Lincoln (daughter of street-level mobster Tombstone), who has had some run-ins with Scott over the past few years in the comics? She’s been a frenemy of Scott’s in the more recent runs, so that could make some sense, if they want to go that direction. But, knowing Marvel, it could also just be a brand-new character created for the film. So who knows?
John-Kamen has spent the past few years starring in Syfy’s acclaimed space series Killjoys but is poised to break big. She’s had roles in Game of Thrones and Black Mirror, and is set to show up on the big screen soon in the Tomb Raider reboot, as well as Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One. If you’ve ever seen Killjoys, you know she can also kick a whole lot of butt, so it’ll be interesting to see what Marvel does with her within the MCU.
Who do you think she’s playing? Excited to see John-Kamen join the MCU?
