After Daredevil’s pseudo-resurrection in the first trailer for the hero’s third season on Netflix, fans were psyched that Matt Murdock wasn’t dead and gone as the end of The Defenders implied — even if nobody believed it. The new trailer for the latest season brings up the show’s beloved theme of duality, offering up the same resurrection to one of Daredevil’s greatest foes: Wilson Fisk.
Kingpin is back and fancier than ever. A satiny white suit with a black shirt underneath (perhaps symbolizing the businessman’s respectable veneer and inner evil) contrasts with Murdock’s mask. When the latter pulls it over his head after throwing his sunglasses into the fireplace, it’s almost all black -- besides a small fringe of white outlining the bottom. Of course, the look also closely echoes Fisk's most famous look from decades of comic lore.
Check it out and see what you think:
The two look to be on opposite sides once again, but opposite sides of an increasingly complex moral conflict. Daredevil is evolving, just as Murdock is. And Fisk? Well, Kingpin is here to stay and closer to the comics (in that flashy white) than ever.
Daredevil’s new season hits Netflix on Oct. 19.
