IDW’s new Star Trek: Boldly Go comic series may take place after the events of Star Trek Beyond in the movie's Kelvin Timeline, but these are not the voyages of the Starship Enterprise and its five-year mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations.

Instead, our beloved crew has been scattered to the winds and Captain Kirk is now in charge of a whole new starship (as Interim Captain), the U.S.S. Endeavour NCC-1805. Star Trek: Boldly Go will reunite the Star Trek dynamic duo of Mike Johnson, who’s back on writing duties, and artist Tony Shasteen. Here’s how the storyline for the new comic book kicks off:

Star Trek: Boldly Go picks up as the former Enterprise crew has been split up: Some have left Starfleet altogether, and some re-assigned to new ships and new roles… including Kirk and McCoy.

As you can see below, we have a new crew (from the preview pages, it would seem only the good Doctor has been assigned to Kirk's new ship. Heck, he kinda sorta even misses Spock) and there have been a few changes made to the Starfleet uniforms. The new series will also introduce more of those strange new worlds and brand-new alien species as our heroes will face a danger “unlike anything the Federation has faced before.” Should be fun!

The new Star Trek title will hit comic book stores tomorrow with issue #1. Take a look at some preview pages below, and let us know what you think.
